The Roman Theater Museum in collaboration with the UPCT 2024 Summer Courses  has organized a course on Archeology and Cultural Heritage, which will be held from July 15 to 17 in the Assembly Hall of the Roman Theater Museum.

The rich Cultural Heritage of Cartagena, including the Archaeological Heritage, has undergone a profound transformation in recent decades, becoming an engine of urban regeneration and a dynamic agent of society and tourism. Furthermore, in the last two years, major heritage recovery projects have been undertaken, such as the beginning of the recovery of the amphitheater and the portico of the Roman theater. Both are clear examples of the effort and commitment of public administrations to the city's heritage and also of the collaboration between specialists from multiple and diverse disciplines. That is why the course teaching is interdisciplinary and brings together archaeologists, historians, restorers, urban planners and architects, all of them involved in heritage recovery.

The course aims to update the knowledge of these great buildings in the context of the Roman cities of Hispania and the Roman Empire to focus throughout the sessions on the latest news about the interventions in the Amphitheater and Western Portico of the Theater , both the progress of his research from an archaeological point of view, as well as the restoration work, as well as future projects. The sessions will be complemented by visits to these two large monumental complexes.
