Maria, crystal dreams

The exhibition María, cristal dreams by Joaquina López is inspired by the figure of María Cegarra, and brings us closer to the exciting world of a different poet, a woman of science who ended up landing in literature.
The artist's palette evokes those ocher and reddish tones, adding color to the poetic work of María Cegarra, who lived between La Unión and Cartagena. Joaquina meets María between the mines, the laboratory and the classrooms; She observes her touring the coves, the rocks and the landscapes of Cabo de Palos, because her life and her work cannot be understood far from those broken mountain ranges, the sand, the dunes, the field and the sea.
Paco Franco, curator of the exhibition, writes that Joaquina soaks up the security and tranquility that María transmits in her poetry, of that little house near the sea where the anchor rests on the side and her poem written next to the sea rests on a small table. sea.

The exhibition joins various events that will be held in the city on the occasion of Women's Day.
