HOLY WEEK, APRIL AND MAY

The Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena kicks off Holy Week with Open Days on Friday of Dolores, March 31 . Throughout the day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors will be able to enjoy their museum tour that culminates with an unexpected vision of the monument.

On the occasion of Holy Week, the Roman Theater also extends its opening hours and days . So it will open its doors on Holy Monday and Easter Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., from Wednesday to Holy Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday 4 and Sunday 9 April from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Roman Theater Museum has programmed various activities with Cartagena Puerto de Culturas for Easter and the month of May. You can enjoy Routes with a lot of History, family activities and new experiences.

A FABLE THEATER. Family activity

Participants will be able to learn through a dynamic visit, how fables and ancient plays have come down to us. How the books were kept and how the theatrical performances were. We will immerse ourselves in a time tunnel at the hands of Augustus, who founded the first public libraries in Rome, and we will reach the Roman theater, where we will participate in a comedy by Plautus.
Place : Museum of the Roman Theater. Days : Saturdays in April. Hour: 11:30 a.m. Price : €4. Club Cartagena Port of Cultures €2.

FROM THE THEATER TO THE DOMUS DEL PORTICO. Guided route

The route will begin through the rooms of the Museum of the Roman Theater until reaching the magnificent Roman Theatre; Leaving the monument, we will continue towards one of the most typical corners of the old Fishermen's Quarter, Callejón de la Soledad, to visit the remains of the theater portico preserved in the Domus del Pórtico.
Place : Museum of the Roman Theater and Domus del Pórtico. Days : Saturdays in April and May. Time : 11:00 a.m. Price: €6.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF CLEOPATRA. guided route

On the guided tour we will learn about the influence of Egypt in Carthago Nova through the enigmatic character Cleopatra Selene, who, following the cult of the goddess Isis, will follow in her footsteps at the Egyptian Treasures exhibition in the Augusteum, in the Forum of the colony, surrounded by temples and places of power to end at the Roman Theater.
Route : Augusteum, Museum of the Roman Forum and Museum of the Roman Theater. Days : Saturdays in April and May. Time : 11:00 a.m. Departure from the Augusteum. Price : €13 individual, €10 reduced. Club Cartagena Port of Cultures, €6.50.

ROMAN AND MEDITERRANEAN CARTAGENA. Guided tour with boat ride

Cartagena became one of the most important metropolises in the Mediterranean in ancient times. The route will begin at the Museum of the Roman Theater, where the power of Rome was reflected in Cartago Nova to continue through the Barrio del Foro, the Spanish Pompeii, where the Baths are located, majestic buildings with paintings and sacred places, such as the sanctuary of Isis and Serapis. Furthermore, Cartagena cannot be explained without having the sea nearby. Thus, this route ends with a boat trip around the bay where the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans sailed.
Itinerary : Museum of the Roman Theater, Roman Forum Quarter and tour in a Tourist Boat around the bay. Days : April 3, 4 and 5. Hour: 11:00 a.m. Departure from the Museum of the Roman Theater, the Boat at 4:30 p.m., from the Escala Real del Puerto. Price : individual, €15, reduced €13. Club Cartagena Port of Cultures: €7.50.

ROADS OF ROME. Guided route

A new route where the city of the 21st century allows us to discover places in the ancient city hidden for centuries under our feet. Descending a few meters, we will discover new roads, magnificent sewage systems, as well as houses, the forum, the baths, the temples and the Roman Theatre. A unique route, along which the new Cardo Máximo site on Calle de la Serreta will be visited exclusively.

VIRTUAL TOUR TO THE ROMAN THEATER OF CARTAGENA: NEW EXPERIENCES
A guided visit to the Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena with virtual reality that will allow you to immerse yourself, through virtual glasses, in the ancient building. You will be able to view the theater in 360 degrees as it was in its time, fly over it or see a small mime of the time.
