The Roman Theatre Museum in collaboration with the Summer Courses of the UPCT 2022 has organized a course on Hispania Romana. A Heritage dynamizing Cultural Tourism, to be held from 18 to 20 July in the Auditorium of the Museum of the Roman Theatre.

This course will address how the archaeological heritage has become in recent decades a driving force for the revitalization of cultural tourism, for this we will make a tour of different cities of Roman Hispania that have worked in recent years in the complex task of investigating and enhancing their monuments and archaeological sites, but also have made an important effort in their presentation to the public and in the dissemination of their knowledge. Cities that share a common monumental heritage that are also the signs of identity of its citizens, so we will analyze the case of Merida, Segovia, Malaga, Alcala de Henares, Zaragoza and Cartagena among others. Also other examples of the emptied Spain where research has generated new opportunities in their immediate environment as in the Iberian-Roman city of Libisosa (Letuza). Therefore, the latest advances on the research of these ancient cities of Hispania as well as their projects and new experiences in the dissemination of this legacy will be shared.

The course sessions will also present the cultural tourism project "Hispania Romana" which will offer new opportunities for promotion inside and outside the country as well as greater cooperation and exchange of knowledge, while generating new strategies to promote research, innovation and technology applied to better conservation, dissemination and promotion of our common heritage.
