ROUTES AND ACTIVITIES AT THE ROMAN THEATRE IN MAY AND JUNE

The Roman Theatre Museum has scheduled various family activities, guided tours and night visits for the month of June with Cartagena Puerto de Culturas.

SCIPIO VERSUS HANNIBAL. THE BATTLE BEGINS… Family activity.

This family activity will allow participants to learn about the key events of the Second Punic War and its protagonists, including an encounter with Hannibal and Scipio . Children will become part of a troop or a legion and celebrate the victory at the Roman Theatre of Cartagena. Don't miss it! You'll be either a Roman or a Carthaginian; we'll provide some costumes for your role, but you're also welcome to bring something from home.

Location : Roman Theatre Museum. Days : Saturdays in May (except the 16th) and June. Time : 11:00 a.m. Price : 4 euros

ROMAN AND MEDITERRANEAN CARTAGENA. Guided tour with boat trip

Cartagena became one of the most important metropolises in the Mediterranean during antiquity. The route begins at the Roman Theatre Museum, which reflects the power of Rome, and continues to the Forum Museum, the Spanish Pompeii, where the Roman Baths, majestic buildings adorned with paintings, and sacred sites such as the sanctuary of Isis and Serapis are located. Furthermore, Cartagena cannot be fully understood without considering its proximity to the sea. Thus, this route concludes with a boat trip around the bay where Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, and Romans once sailed.

Tour : Roman Theatre Museum, Roman Forum Museum and Tourist Boat Trip around the bay.

Days : Saturdays in May and June. Time : 10:30 a.m. Departure from the Roman Theatre Museum. The boat departs at 4:30 p.m. from the old Yacht Club. Price : €16 individual, €14 reduced. Cartagena Puerto de Culturas Club: €8

FROM THE THEATER TO THE DOMUS OF THE PORTICO.

The route will begin at the Roman Theatre Museum and upon leaving the monument we will continue towards one of the most typical corners of the old Fishermen's Quarter, the alley of Solitude, to visit the remains preserved in the Domus of the Portico .

Location : Roman Theatre Museum and Portico House. Days : Sundays in May and June. Time : 11:00 a.m. Price : €7. Number of people : 15

TEO JONES AND THE LEGEND OF THE FIRST MERMAID. THEATRICAL TOUR

Five actors on ancient Roman and Carthaginian stages will bring to life a crazy adventure where Teo, the absent-minded archaeologist, and his friends: the intrepid Sara, the hilarious mummy, and a wacky bus driver, will find themselves caught up in a mysterious legend where they will have to protect the magical song of the sirens before the forces of evil take power and destroy Cartagena.

Date : Sundays in April and May (except April 5).

Tour : Roman Theatre, Tourist Bus, and Punic Wall. Time : 11:30 a.m. from the Roman Theatre Museum. Price : €18. Cartagena Puerto de Culturas Club Card: 50% discount. Capacity : 44 people.

NIGHT VISITS

THE THEATER UNDER THE MOONLIGHT. Guided tour

Visitors will enjoy a nighttime tour of the most emblematic project commissioned by Augustus in ancient Carthago Nova. This exclusive and relaxed experience offers a unique opportunity to explore the Roman Theatre Museum, beginning with a guided tour for a small group. The tour delves into the key aspects of Roman civilization, culminating in a visit to the archaeological gem of the Roman Theatre under the moonlight.

Location : Roman Theatre Museum. Dates : June (20), July (4, 18), August (1, 15, 29), September (19, 26)

Time : 9:00 PM

Price : €12, and Club Cartagena Puerto de Culturas €5.

AULAEUM, CURTAIN DOWN. Theatrical tour

The great Roman architect Vitruvius will offer his vision of the theater, and with him, you'll enjoy a nighttime visit to the most emblematic work commissioned by Augustus in ancient Carthago Nova. The journey culminates with the unexpected appearance of the imposing Roman Theater's seating area bathed in moonlight, where you'll encounter classical theater through the works of Plautus.

Dates : June (13, 27), July (11, 25), August (8, 22), September (5, 12). Time : 9:00 PM. Price : €18, and €7 for Club Cartagena Puerto de Culturas members. ( Capacity : 30 people)
