The Roman Theater is increasing its activities for the summer with a number of themed tours and visits in collaboration with Cartagena Puerto de Culturas. A guided tour or family activity is available every day, and nighttime moonlit or dramatized visits are available every Saturday.
FROM LEONARDO TO VITRUVIUS. THE ART OF MEASURING BEAUTY. Guided tour
Discover the golden ratio in Cartagena with a fascinating guided tour that reveals the presence of the golden ratio in Cartagena's architectural heritage. During the tour, we'll visit the Castillo de la Concepción and discover this enigmatic mathematical principle on the floor plan of Santa María. We'll continue along the façade of the Pascual Riquelme Palace until we reach the Roman Theater itself.
Route : Panoramic Elevator, Concepción Castle, and Roman Theatre Museum. Dates : Tuesdays and Fridays in July, August, and September 2 and 5. Time : 10:30 a.m. Departure from the Panoramic Elevator. A guided tour of Cartagena's Roman Theater Museum with virtual reality allows you to immerse yourself in the ancient building through a 3D recreation embedded in tablets. You'll be able to visualize what the Roman theater looked like in the 1st century, see the pictorial decoration of the virtually reconstructed portico, and much more.

CITIZENS OF AN EMPIRE. Guided tour
A route that allows you to learn about the life of the citizens of the legendary Carthago Nova, visiting the Roman Museum and Theater, the Forum Museum, where you'll find the great public buildings such as the baths, temples, and the curia, and the Casa della Fortuna, a domus complete with paintings and mosaics. This way, visitors will delve into the city's years of splendor, as well as the customs of its inhabitants.

THEATRUM: Spend an afternoon at the theater. Family activity
Participants will learn about Roman society through theater, its religion and politics, the great theater buildings of the Roman Empire, the types of plays that were performed, and the people who performed in them.

FROM THE THEATRE TO THE DOMUS OF THE PORTICO. Guided tour.
The route will begin at the Roman Theatre Museum and upon leaving the monument, we will continue towards one of the most typical corners of the old Fishermen's Quarter, the Callejón de la Soledad, to visit the remains preserved in the Domus del Pórtico.

SCIPIO VERSUS HANNIBAL. Family Activity
This family activity allows participants to learn about the most significant events of the Second Punic War and its protagonists, Hannibal and Scipio, as well as one of the most emblematic buildings of the Roman city, the Roman theater, which was built during the reign of Augustus. Children will be part of a troop or a legion and celebrate the triumph in the Roman Theater of Cartagena.

NIGHT VISITS
MOONLIGHT THEATRE. Guided tour
Visitors will enjoy a nighttime visit to the most emblematic work promoted by Augustus in ancient Carthago Nova. The trip allows them to experience firsthand, in a relaxed and exclusive atmosphere, a tour that begins at the Roman Theatre Museum with a guide and a small group of people, discovering the keys to Roman civilization. The tour ends at the archaeological gem of the Roman Theatre under the moonlight.

AULAEUM, DOWN THE CURTAIN. Theatrical tour
The great Roman architect Vitruvius will offer his vision of theater. With this tour, you'll enjoy a nighttime visit to the most emblematic work commissioned by Augustus in ancient Carthago Nova. The tour culminates with the unexpected appearance of the imposing Roman Theater's grandstands in the moonlight, where you'll encounter classical theater through the work of Plautus.
