The Roman Theatre Museum has scheduled various family activities and guided tours with Cartagena Port of Cultures for the months of April and May, and Easter.
A FABLE THEATRE. Family Activity
Through a dynamic tour, participants will learn how ancient fables and plays have come down to us, how books were stored, and what theatrical performances were like. We'll be taken through a time tunnel by Augustus, who founded the first public libraries in Rome, and we'll visit the Roman theater, where we'll participate in a comedy by Plautus.
Location: Roman Theatre Museum. Dates: Saturdays in April, May, and June. Time: 11:30 a.m. Price: 4 euros.
Lucretia Prima, Citizen of Carthago Nova. Guided tour
A guided tour that gives us an insight into the daily life of Lucrezia Prima in ancient Carthago Nova, visiting the city's main monuments, from her family home, the Domus della Fortuna, to the forum, the sanctuary of Isis, taking a relaxing bath in the thermal baths, or attending the theater with her husband.
Route: Casa de la Fortuna, Forum District, and Roman Theatre. Days: Saturdays in April. Time: 11:30 a.m. Departure from Casa de la Fortuna. Price: €16 individual, €14 reduced. Cartagena Puerto de Culturas Friends and Family Club: free.
FROM THE THEATER TO THE PORTICO BACKSTAGE. Guided tour
The route will begin with a visit to the Roman Theatre Museum, where we will be able to enjoy a new piece of the Museum, the pictorial panel of Mars recovered from the Theatre's portico. It will continue through the Museum's halls until we reach the magnificent Roman Theatre. Upon leaving the monument, we will continue towards one of the most typical corners of the old Fishermen's Quarter, the Callejón de la Soledad, to visit the new remains recovered from the western portico, financed with Next Generation funds.

FROM LEONARDO TO VITRUVIUS. The art of measuring beauty. Guided tour
Discover the golden ratio in Cartagena with a fascinating guided tour that reveals the presence of the golden ratio in Cartagena's architectural heritage. During the tour, we will visit the Castillo de la Concepción and discover this enigmatic mathematical principle on the floor plan of Santa María, continuing along the Pascual Riquelme façade to reach the Roman Theater itself. Through this experience, attendees will understand how the golden ratio has been used throughout history in art and architecture, becoming a symbol of harmony and beauty.
Location: Panoramic Elevator, Concepción Castle, and Roman Theater Museum. Dates: April 6, 13, 17, 18, 20, and 27; and May 1, 4, 11, 18, and 25. Time: 11:00 a.m. Price: €16 individual, €14 reduced, and €8 for Cartagena Puerto de Culturas Club members.
ROMAN AND MEDITERRANEAN CARTAGENA. Guided tour with boat ride
Cartagena became one of the most important metropolises in the Mediterranean in ancient times. The route begins at the Roman Theater Museum, where the power of Rome was reflected in Cartago Nova, and continues through the Forum District, the Spanish Pompeii, home to the Baths, majestic buildings with paintings, and sacred sites, such as the sanctuary of Isis and Serapis. Furthermore, Cartagena cannot be fully explained without being close to the sea. Thus, this route concludes with a boat ride through the bay where the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, and Romans once sailed.
Tour: Roman Theatre Museum, Roman Forum Quarter, and Sightseeing Boat Ride around the Bay. Days: April 14 and 15, and Saturdays in May (except the 17th) . Time: 11:00 a.m. Departure from the Roman Theatre Museum, the boat departs at 4:30 p.m., from the Port's Royal Staircase. Price: Individual, €16, reduced, €14. Cartagena Port of Cultures Club: €8.
THEATRUM: Spend an afternoon at the theater. Family activity
Participants will learn about Roman society through theater, its religion and politics, the great theater buildings of the Roman Empire, the types of plays performed, and the people who performed in them.
